  A screw-type vacuum pump is a vacuum‑pumping device that generates suction and discharge by means of a pair of screws rotating in synchrony at high speed in opposite directions within the pump housing. The operating principle of a dry‑type screw vacuum pump is as follows: two intermeshing, non‑contacting screws—one on the left and one on the right—rotate at high speed driven by gear transmission. The pump housing and the helical grooves of the meshing screws divide the interior into multiple chambers, forming several stages. Gas flows sequentially through these equally spaced chambers without being compressed; only the helical structure at the very tips of the screws exerts a compressive effect on the gas, ultimately resulting in a vacuum.

  The operating conditions of these bearings are largely similar to those encountered in large compressors, such as high temperature rise, high rotational speeds, and heavy loads.
