Planetary gearbox

CHIPRO offers high-speed, heavy-load, and waterproof, grease‑proof solutions for this operating condition.

Working principle

An internal gear ring is tightly mounted to the gearbox housing, with a sun gear at its center driven by an external power source. Between these two components lies a planetary gear set consisting of three gears evenly distributed on a carrier; this planetary gear set floats and is supported by the output shaft, the internal gear ring, and the sun gear. When the input-side drive rotates the sun gear, it causes the planetary gears to spin about their own axes while simultaneously orbiting around the central axis in accordance with the internal gear ring’s path. The rotation of the planetary gears, in turn, drives the output shaft—connected to the carrier—to deliver the output torque.
