The piston-type oil-free air compressor is driven directly by an electric motor, which rotates the crankshaft and, via the connecting rod, imparts reciprocating motion to the piston, thereby varying the cylinder volume. As the pressure inside the cylinder changes, the intake valve allows air—filtered through an air filter (and silencer)—to enter the cylinder. During the compression stroke, the reduction in cylinder volume forces the compressed air, through the exhaust valve, into the discharge pipe and then, via a check valve, into the air receiver tank. The air entering the vehicle‑mounted oil‑free air compressor is at ambient conditions, while the output is compressed air of a defined density, which is subsequently stored in the receiver tank, generating high‑pressure air exceeding 10 kgf/cm² to power various vehicle components. Due to the specific requirements of vehicular applications, customers demand that vehicle‑mounted air compressors be: highly durable with a long service life; low in maintenance costs and operating noise; feature minimal external control piping and high integration; and have compact dimensions and light weight. The bearings of a vehicle‑mounted oil‑free air compressor include motor bearings, support bearings, crankshaft bearings, and piston bearings. Given the crank‑and‑connecting‑rod mechanism and the stringent spatial constraints inherent to oil‑free compressors, their operating conditions are as follows:

1) Heavy load (alternating impact load), with significant vibration;

2) Poor perpendicularity of the crank and connecting rod results in the bearing being subjected to a overturning moment.

3) High-temperature environment;

3) There is a high concentration of dust and moisture.
